This exquisite midcentury cocktail dress by Arnold Scaasi for Martini epitomizes the elegance of late 1950s–early 1960s eveningwear. Crafted from a sumptuous black silk jacquard woven with an oversized rose motif, the fabric subtly catches the light, giving depth and dimension to the classic silhouette.

The bodice features a flattering deep scoop neckline and long, slim sleeves finished with zippers at the wrists, a refined couture-inspired detail that ensures a sleek fit. A fitted waistline releases into a generously gathered skirt, designed to be worn with or without a crinoline for a dramatic, New Look–inspired shape. The back closes with the original metal zipper. The interior is lined in silk organza. 

Designer Note: Arnold Scaasi (1930–2015), born Arnold Isaacs in Montreal, trained in Paris at the Chambre Syndicale and worked under Charles James before launching his own label in New York. Renowned for his glamorous, sculptural designs and worn by socialites and First Ladies alike, Scaasi offered a diffusion line under Scaasi-boutique for Martini, making his designs more accessible while retaining his signature sophistication.
