A Chapman Original — Late 1940s Black Sequined Net Peplum Gown

Rare early Ceil Chapman evening dress from the late 1940’s. Black net is scattered with gold sequined rosettes over the bodice and peplum, catching light with every movement while the fitted, boned bodice and dramatic full-length skirt do the shaping work underneath. The scoop neckline and cap sleeves keep the shoulders bare and elegant, while the fitted peplum flares out just enough to add drama at the hip before the full skirt falls to the floor. Closes at the side with the original metal zipper. Being offered as is due to some signs of wear. Wears and presents beautifully.
