Fabulous 1950's demi-couture occasion dress by high end designer Paul Whitney. Whitney worked under James Galanos and was a sketch artist in Paris for such luminaries as Schiaparelli and Jacques Fath. His designs are considered demi-couture and reflect the quality of craftsmanship and materials as couture garments. This piece is no exception. A sculptural silk exterior with short sleeves and zip down front frames a ruffled cotton skirt, stiff with silk backing and a layer of petticoat. Fully lined in exquisite silk. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
