Absolutely stunning 1950's inky black velvet cocktail dress with radiant sapphire blue underlay. The elegant fitted bodice features a wide square neckline and petite cap sleeves, both framed with rows of velvet eyelet embroidery backed in sapphire for subtle, mesmerizing dimension. The velvet itself is cut into tiny floral eyelets, each carefully embroidered around the edges so the vivid blue underlayer peeks through like jewels set in velvet. The defined waist gives way to a full, deeply pleated skirt, also backed in vibrant sapphire blue taffeta that shows through both the eyelets and the movement of the skirt. A dramatic V-shaped back adds just the right amount of allure while showcasing the exquisite workmanship. Zips up the side with original metal zipper. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
