1940s Tilly Heitner Black Forstmann Wool Jacket with Beaded Detail and Carved Glass Button

This sophisticated late-1940s jacket by Tilly Heitner is a striking example of American postwar elegance and craftsmanship. Expertly tailored from luxurious black Forstmann wool crepe, prized for its supple drape and enduring quality, the design sculpts a refined hourglass silhouette with a cinched waist and gently flared peplum. The high, sculpted neckline extends into an attached scarf or tie, dramatically draped across the front and adorned with hand-applied beaded geometric motifs that echo throughout the peplum. Each square medallion glimmers subtly with jet-black seed beads and faceted paillettes, creating dimensional sparkle under the light. A carved black glass button fastens the front, adding a final note of refinement. Subtle elasticized gathers at the waist provide a graceful fit and accentuate the figure. Fully lined and beautifully constructed, in excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
