Sublime 1930's NRA (National Recovery Act) Silk Taffeta Evening Coat / Small
👋 A B O U T
Absolutely sublime 1930's black silk taffeta evening coat from I.Magnin bearing the rare NRA label signifying that it was made in coordination with the FDR created National Recovery Act. A fascinating piece of fashion history as well as an absolutely gorgeous thing to wear. This dramatic coat features a trumpet silhouette and is fitted at the waist and hips and flares out to full hem. The sleeves are leg of mutton with a ton of fullness at the shoulder and bicep and more fitted at the cuffs. A band connects the shoulders at the back and a brooch or dress clip can be worn for decoration.
This coat would make the perfect accompaniment to a bias cut gown or slip dress, or could be worn alone belted as an evening gown.
