👋 A B O U T

A rare gown of exquisite beauty from the legendary Salon Moderne of Saks Fifth Ave. The Salon Moderne was an exclusive part of Saks that was run by Sophie Gimbel. Gimbel was a fashion designer that made custom couture garments for the most exclusive of Saks clientele. This gown was made for Mrs. CG Chaplin and is dated 1962. Composed of yards of floral print silk chiffon over an underlayer of the same print in silk taffeta. The most stunning feature is the shoulder swag that actually closes around the wearers wrist to form the most fantastic glamour sleeve! Pure drama and elegance.

Couture made with hand stitched seams throughout. Plenty of seam allowance to take in or out. Zips up the back with original zipper. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
