1950s Mari for I. Magnin Silk Organza Party Dress

A breathtaking example of midcentury elegance, this 1950s strapless party dress from Mari for I. Magnin captures the romance and artistry of the era. The sculpted bodice is beautifully constructed with precise vertical pleats that frame the neckline and accentuate the fitted waist. Beneath, a full tea-length skirt—expertly gathered for volume—floats over an interior petticoat for that quintessential 1950s “New Look” shape. Inside, the bodice is fully lined in acetate with a built-in grosgrain waist stay for structure and support, and it fastens with a metal zipper at the back.
